Michael Hofman

Michael Hofman is a Nuclear Medicine Physician and Professor at the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology at the University of Melbourne in Australia. His research has been instrumental in advancing PSMA PET imaging and PSMA radioligand therapy, helping to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. He was named Australia’s top researcher in nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and molecular imaging in both 2024 and 2025. Professor Hofman leads the PET/CT program and the Prostate Cancer Theranostics and Imaging Centre of Excellence at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He earned a degree in medicine and surgery from Monash University in Australia and undertook a PET/CT fellowship at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London.
